EAW Aichi E13A "Jake" from the 153rd NAG 1944

The Jake was the standard Imperial Japanse Navy warship based floatplane during the Pacific War. It operated from heavy cruisers, battleships and also from seaplane tenders. The Jake did not always operate in lone reconnaissance duties. Many were assigned to squadrons for patrol and anti-submarine duties, based along the coasts of both islands and Japan itself on board seaplane tenders. They even occasionally performed attack or bombardement duties. It remained a relatively anonymous aircraft but had been everywhere above the Pacific during the war. It was popular with its crews.

It first experienced combat above China in the autumn of 1941 and took part in the attack against Pearl Harbor (performing a reconnaissance prior to the attack itself). It was still under production when the war ended.

I developed a new 3dz and skin for this aircraft. I started with the PAW 1942 Val 3DZ as the base model.
Claudio Wilches cockpit files for the Val were adapted to this model and I made the wing view.

For use with Charles Gunst's ECAPanel use the JU87 slot and select the E13A Jake option. To use place the 3DZ files, and the .tpc files into your EAW folder.

The .PCX files for this aircraft are included if you'd like to try your hand at adding your own markings.

Have fun,

Captain Kurt
